***Kuv Hais Lub Hmoob***
Prior to working as a therapist here at Chico Creek Counseling, I worked as a local elevator assistant for Dr. Tseng, a professor at UC Berkeley. I assisted him in evaluating the Zoosiab (Happy) program at Hmong Cultural Center in Butte County. The Zoosiab program targets the Hmong elderly (50 years and older), where they provide recreational groups for the Hmong elderly to meet, socialize, and learn about five different topics: health, physical, cultural, mental health, and life skills. Prior to completing my Master Program in Counseling at Simpson University, I did my internship as a therapist at Stonewall Alliance Center in Chico. There I worked with various individuals from the LGBTQ+ community struggling with anxiety, depression, or identity.
I take on an eclectic approach to therapy, as I believe that there is no sure way of doing therapy. However, I do want to say that I am client-center and tend to go at my client’s pace. I am dedicated to providing a safe place for my client to feel heard and express whatever is on their mind. I am also dedicated to working with marginalized populations as well.

A little about me, I am the oldest out of six siblings, five brothers and one sister. I am also a father of three. I like to play soccer in my spare time and visit family and relatives occasionally because community is important to me. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Chico State University and my Master’s degree in Counseling from Simpson University.
