My name is Samantha Lapp and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been a practicing therapist for over five years, and I love my job! I have worked with many different populations and a diverse age range of clients. I consider myself a strength-based clinician and, while my theoretical approach is varied, my belief is that our struggles and our strengths are often related to attachment or trauma. We all have had difficult experiences in our lives and those experiences impact our relationships—with family, partners, friends, our children and ourselves. Each one of us has the strength and ability to make positive change but sometimes we need extra support, genuine care, and for someone to believe in us and our individual greatness.
Most recently, I have been working with children and families as a certified Parent Child Interaction Therapist (PCIT). PCIT could be for you if you and your child have experienced a trauma, you have concerns about your child’s disruptive behaviors, or you want to enhance your relationship with your kids and learn new tools.
When I am not working, I enjoy camping, being outdoors, yoga, traveling, cooking, listening to music, social gatherings with friends, and sharing all those experiences with my daughter, Penelope. And while I love going to Giants games and Sharks hockey games, I couldn’t tell you the name of a single player, but I sure love those crab sandwiches at AT&T park!
