As a person, I am genuine, humorous, direct, and don’t shy away from hard issues. I highly value the relationship between client and therapist, and work hard to create a warm, safe place to work in partnership to reach your goals. As a firm believer that you are the expert in your life, I’m here to help you find clarity and practical solutions to your daily struggles.
I earned my master’s degree in education with a community counseling emphasis from Andrews University in Michigan and have been a licensed MFT since 2000. My career started as a respite worker for children in high risk families. From there, I worked for a decade in crisis services, both as a clinician and supervisor. Over the years, I’ve provided assessment and diagnostics, group and individual therapy, crisis intervention, and worked with foster youth and their families.
My specialties are helping those struggling with depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harming behaviors, personality disorders, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar, and adolescence. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
I was raised in Northern California and have been married for 20 years to my college sweetheart. During my free time I enjoy hanging out with my husband, two boys, and our two dogs—Marshmallow and Sid.
