Life can be overwhelming. Therapy can help. Together we can explore your strengths, beliefs, commitments and the resources that can help you gain influence over the problems in your life. I believe life can be better for you and those you care about. I look forward to meeting you and being a caring and nonjudgmental help during this time.
Experience
I work with individuals, couples, families and children from all walks of life, those struggling with past traumas, relational issues, life transitions – and anyone simply seeking support unravelling difficult thoughts and emotions.
After graduating from Chico State University with an MS degree in counseling psychology – Marriage and Family Therapy, I gained additional training and experience treating complex trauma with brain spotting, narrative and solution-focused approaches for individual and couples therapy. I also trained in play and experiential approaches for working with children and teens. I have supported families learning the Nurtured Heart Approach. My school traineeships included LGBTQIA specific counseling at Stonewall Alliance, school-based counseling for a local non-profit, and group counseling for adults experiencing severe mental health challenges.
Personal Info
Chico is my hometown where I grew up, raised my children, and where I now sometimes lose count of my grandchildren. My community has supported and nurtured me through ups and downs, for this I am forever grateful. I love the beautiful surroundings of Northern California, and explore when able. I consider my best days in the company of family and friends, out in nature, watching a movie, listening to music, or getting lost in a book. Life can be good.
