About Mandolin Kladko

“For the meaning of life differs from man to man, from day to day and from hour to hour. What matters, therefore, is not the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person’s life at a given moment.” – Viktor Frankl

Hello! I’m Mandolin.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #102090

One of the most challenging, frightening, and rewarding endeavors one can do is to decide that things need to be different. How that looks can bring unanticipated barriers, can feel overwhelming, lead to questions about personal meaning and purpose, or trigger what feels unresolved. We may not figure out all the answers, there may not always be solutions, but you don’t have to move through it alone. My hope is to help you emerge more empowered, heard, supported, resilient, and clear about who you are and what you need. I work with a more direct, open approach oriented around attachment work, cognitive restructuring, Brainspotting, and existential conversations from a trauma-informed healing lens. I’m about leaning into uncomfortable and necessary conversations. Ultimately, authenticity and our relationship are key with a little humor to boot.

I’ve lived in Chico since 2010 and love to be a part of most community events, out running on the trails, cooking what is locally sourced, petting every dog I encounter, or traveling to the mountains for a change of scenery and weather.

My Approach & Values

I work especially well with adolescents, those experiencing significant life transitions or disruptions, those with existential fears and questions, who feel challenged by death and mortality, and adults still challenged by the pain of their childhood or trauma.

My approach is trauma-informed, direct, and open. I specialize in attachment work, cognitive restructuring, and Brainspotting. I’m all about leading you head on through uncomfortable, yet freeing and necessary existential conversations. Ultimately, authenticity in our sessions and relationship is key.
